FinOps Certified Enterprise

A FinOps Certified Enterprise is an organization that understands the importance of FinOps for their success, so they dedicate resources to developing their employees’ FinOps skills through training, participation in the Foundation’s programs, and interaction with Foundation Members. These organizations are also committed to contributing best practices back to the FinOps Community through involvement with the FinOps Foundation.

Why get certified?

Improve your FinOps practice: This certification requires numerous individuals in your organization to go through FinOps training and interact with the community to learn more about FinOps, which will help improve the practice at your organization.

Business continuity for FinOps: Obtaining this certification indicates that numerous individuals at your company are skilled in FinOps, ensuring that spending will continue to be optimized through workforce changes.

Establish a reputation as a tech brand: Businesses that hold numerous technical certifications may more likely to be viewed by their customers as modern, sophisticated, technology companies that can meet the demands of today and tomorrow. Developing a reputation as a tech brand helps with hiring and retaining the best talent available in the market, as attractive candidates prefer to work at organizations that are growing and innovating.

Individual Certification Requirements

A number of individuals in your organization must achieve the FinOps Certified Practitioner certification in order for your organization to become a FinOps Certified Enterprise. The number is based on your company size. For example, if your organization has 1200 people in it, then you need at least 35 individuals—who are actively working at the company—who have each achieved the FinOps Certified Practitioner certification. Note that one FinOps Certified Professional counts for five FinOps Certified Practitioners.

Company Size FinOps Certified Practitioners Required
0-99 3
100-499 10
500-4999 35
5000+ 50

The Company Size is determined by the parent organization size (which was used for defining your fee structure when you joined the Linux Foundation). Employee count is not based on the individual business unit. For example, a 100-person product team that is part of a 1500-person organization would fall into the 500-4999 tier, not the 100-499 tier.
