Partner Member Certification
There are four areas to which FinOps Foundation partner members can certify their platform/services qualifications and alignment to FinOps Framework.
FinOps Certified Platform
Tier of technology providers that license and deliver a software product, or are founders/maintainers of an open-source project, that helps people successfully adopt cloud financial management practices aligned with the FinOps standards.

For providers that deliver solutions that contain a subset of the functionality found in the Certified Platforms which solve a specific part of a cloud cost management challenge.

Certification Requirements
Current certifications will be soft-vetted by the FinOps staff and then presented to the Technical Advisory Council for approval. As the FinOps Framework is adjusted and built out we will move towards a core function model for future certifications or renewals.
Tier of technology providers that license and deliver a software product, or are founders/maintainers of an open-source project, to help FinOps practitioners successfully adopt cloud financial management practices aligned with the FinOps Framework. You can address a number of use cases and be rolled out quickly across an organization. You also have:
- Be a FinOps Foundation and Linux Foundation member
- Publicly listed FinOps platform offering that is available for purchase as a licensed product (for example: SaaS) or available as an open-source project
- Publicly listed features or documentation pages highlighting alignment with the FinOps Framework Domains and Capabilities
- Multiple case studies or public references of implementation by multiple mid-to-large corporate customers
- Number of FinOps Certified Practitioners tied to company size (see table below)
- Participation in FinOps Foundation Special Interest Group(s) or FinOps Foundation Working Group(s)
FinOps Certified Solution
Tier of technology providers that license and deliver a software product that contains a subset of the functionality found in the Certified Platform products and is specialized for helping FinOps practitioners solve a specific subset of their cloud cost management challenges.
- Be a FinOps Foundation and Linux Foundation member
- Publicly listed FinOps solution offering that is available for purchase as a licensed product (for example: SaaS) or available as an open-source project
- Dedicated solution specialized on a specific area of cloud cost management
- Publicly listed features or documentation pages highlighting alignment of specialization with the corresponding subset of FinOps Framework Domains and Capabilities
- Multiple case studies or public references of implementation by multiple customers
- Number of FinOps Certified Practitioners tied to company size (see table below)
- Participation in FinOps Foundation Special Interest Group(s) or FinOps Foundation Working Group(s)
FinOps Certified Service Provider
A pre-qualified tier of vetted service providers who have deep experience helping enterprises successfully adopt cloud financial management practices. The FinOps certified service providers offer FinOps support, consulting, professional services and training for organizations embarking on their cloud financial management journey.
- Be a FinOps Foundation and Linux Foundation member
- Must have a dedicated FinOps or cloud financial management offering listed online
- Number of FinOps Certified Practitioners tied to company size (see table below)
- Must have a business model to support enterprise end users
FinOps Training Partner
FinOps Foundation recognizes a select group of FinOps Training Partners. This is a tier of vetted training providers who have deep experience in cloud financial management training.
- Be a FinOps Foundation and Linux Foundation member
- Ability to demonstrate your training capabilities by meeting strict benchmarks for experience and quality, including the ability to provide references from students who have completed your training courses and from mid-to-large organizations that have used your training services.
- Are an existing FinOps Certified Service Provider, including deep knowledge of FinOps/CFM and involvement in the community.
- Reseller of the FinOps Certified Practitioner exam.
- Have a public available landing page that includes information on your CFM/FinOps training offering.
- If you are teaching instructor-led courses instructors must pass the FinOps Certified Practitioner train-the-trainer program.
